Christmas Season Security Tips

It's a fact that in the Turks and Caicos Islands December is a busy month for all of us, but sadly, also for the burglar. November and December have historically suffered a spate of burglars on Providenciales and while we hope this year is an exception to the rule, it always makes sense to put measures in place to protect your home and your business and your family.

Simple measures like leaving a light on at night, making sure that blinds are closed and that all windows and doors are locked when you leave home and last thing before you go to bed all make a difference. After all, thieves are generally lazy individuals and like nothing better than an open window or unlocked door. They like the easy life. That's why they are thieves!

Don't leave valuables on display or easily seen through your windows or in your vehicle while you are shopping either. Lock them away or at least put them out of easy view.

Importantly, if you seen anything at all that you think is suspicious call 911 and report it. It might not be a crime in progress but it could be someone about to burgle or planning an attack for the future. You never know how that information may help us and the police.

As we all prepare for the Christmas Season let's think about giving gifts to our friends and family and not giving the burglar opportunities and free gifts that they don't deserve.

And on Christmas Day, dispose of your packaging carefully. Don't leave boxes advertising what you have bought around your garbage bin.

Better still, why not treat yourself to an early Christmas present in the form of the Smartwater property marking security solution that we provide. Its unique to you and your property.

We are the Distributor for 'SMARTWATER' security products in the TCI and we can help you protect your property from criminals using this unique solution.

The use of SMARTWATER is promoted by the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands police and Crimestoppers TCI.

We hope your Christmas is all about peace and blessings. Remember, if you need any advice, we are always here to help.
