The detector triggers a heat alarm when it detects:


  • A 10°C increase in temperature within one minute, or

  • A temperature exceeding +64°C

By detecting rapid temperature changes early, FireProtect 2 helps provide valuable time to react and prevent a fire from spreading.


Long-Term Reliable Protection

FireProtect 2 is available in two versions, allowing users to choose the option that best fits their installation and maintenance preferences.

FireProtect 2 SB (Heat)This version features sealed batteries that provide up to 10 years of operation without replacement.

FireProtect 2 RB (Heat)This version uses replaceable CR123A batteries, offering up to 7 years of operation.

Both versions are designed for long-term reliability and minimal maintenance.


Instant Alerts When It Matters Most

When dangerous heat levels are detected, FireProtect 2 activates a powerful 85 dB built-in siren to immediately alert occupants.

The detector also uses clear LED signals and sound patterns to indicate different system events, including:

  • Heat alarms

  • System malfunctions

  • Low battery notifications

  • End-of-life alerts

These signals make it easy to recognize the type of alert and respond quickly.


Interconnected Fire Protection

FireProtect 2 detectors can work together as part of an interconnected fire safety network.

There are two alarm activation methods:

Primary alarm (via Ajax hub)When connected to an Ajax hub, alarms are transmitted to all detectors within 20 seconds.

Fallback alarm (detector-to-detector)Even without a hub, detectors can communicate directly and activate alarms across the system within 60 seconds.

This interconnected alert system ensures that everyone in the building is notified quickly during an emergency.


Secure Wireless Communication

FireProtect 2 uses Ajax’s Jeweller radio communication technology, which provides secure and stable connectivity between the detector and the Ajax hub.

Key communication features include:

  • Up to 1,700 meters of communication range in open space

  • Encrypted two-way communication for secure data transmission

  • Frequency hopping to prevent signal interference

  • Automatic power adjustment for improved energy efficiency

These technologies ensure reliable communication and fast alarm delivery.


Smart Notifications and Monitoring

When connected to the Ajax system, FireProtect 2 sends instant push notifications to users through the Ajax mobile app. These notifications clearly indicate:

  • Which device detected the threat

  • The location of the detector

  • The exact time the event occurred

The system also maintains a detailed event log, storing up to 500 recent system events, which can help building managers or emergency responders understand the sequence of events during an incident.


Easy Installation and Maintenance

FireProtect 2 is designed for quick installation and minimal maintenance. The detector comes ready to operate straight out of the box, with batteries already installed.

Installation steps include:

  1. Pairing the detector with the Ajax system using a QR code.

  2. Mounting the device using the SmartBracket mounting panel.

  3. Configuring and testing the detector through the Ajax mobile or desktop app.

The SmartBracket panel allows installers to adjust the device position easily after installation, ensuring optimal performance.

Additionally, FireProtect 2 includes a self-test system that automatically monitors sensor performance and reports its status to the hub.
