Protection Against Invisible Threats

FireProtect 2 is engineered to detect fires without smoke and dangerous carbon monoxide levels early, before they become life-threatening.


Heat Detection

The detector uses two A1R-class thermistors positioned outside the enclosure to ensure rapid response to fire conditions. It raises an alarm when:

  • Temperature rises by 10°C within one minute, or

  • Temperature exceeds +64°C

This allows FireProtect 2 to detect fires caused by burning synthetic materials or smoldering sources, even when smoke is not immediately present.


Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detection

Carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, and extremely dangerous. FireProtect 2 detects CO at low concentrations and issues alerts before symptoms of poisoning begin.

CO alarms activate when:

  • 50 ppm within 90 minutes

  • 100 ppm within 40 minutes

  • 300 ppm within 3 minutes

The built-in chemical CO sensor remains accurate for up to 10 years, providing long-term protection for households and families.


Two Versions to Suit Every Home

FireProtect 2 is available in two battery configurations:


FireProtect 2 SB (Heat/CO)

  • Sealed, non-replaceable batteries

  • Up to 10 years of operation

  • Ideal for homeowners who want a maintenance-free solution


FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/CO)

  • Replaceable CR123A batteries

  • Up to 7 years of operation

  • Flexible option for long-term installations


Both versions provide early low-battery warnings at least 30 days in advance, via app notifications, LED indicators, and audible alerts.


Always Alert, Even Without a Hub

FireProtect 2 can operate:


  • As part of an Ajax system, or

  • Independently, without pairing to a hub


Each detector features a powerful 85 dB built-in siren, ensuring occupants are alerted immediately. When connected to an Ajax hub, detectors can also trigger wireless interconnection, causing all FireProtect 2 devices in the property to sound within 20 seconds, critical for nighttime emergencies.


Smart Notifications & Full System Visibility

When connected to the Ajax system, FireProtect 2 delivers data-rich notifications that tell you:


  • Which detector triggered

  • What type of threat was detected

  • When and where it occurred


The system logs up to 500 recent events, helping homeowners, installers, or emergency responders understand exactly what happened.


With PRO Desktop, building managers and monitoring staff can view:

  • Device status

  • Alarm history

  • Battery levels

  • Maintenance alerts

—all from a single, centralized interface.


Automation That Enhances Fire Safety

FireProtect 2 works seamlessly with Ajax automation devices to create intelligent fire response scenarios, such as:

  • Up to 1,700 m wireless communication range (open space)

  • Encrypted two-way communication

For larger properties, ReX and ReX 2 range extenders expand coverage across multi-storey buildings, basements, and metal structures.
